My wife and I have been married 42 years, we have six children, and eight grand children. I have have a Master of Science Degree from Saint Joseph’s University and retired from the chemical industry in 2010. At which time I started teaching chess along with some occasional consulting work from my previous employer.

I learned to play chess at six years old and started playing seriously in my teens. As work and family commitments became more demanding I gave up tournament play in my mid twenties. Eventually in my late forties I saw a need to exercise my mind so I started playing tournaments again. During my chess playing career I reached a USCF Expert rating.
